Prompt Marketplace

Let your users sell (or freely share) the prompts behind the images and videos they generate — buyers pay a one-time price straight into the seller’s wallet, and sellers cash out their earnings.

This is a Paid plugin that you can purchase and install via the in-app Plugins marketplace.

Introduction

Prompt Marketplace turns the prompts behind your users’ generated creatives into a marketplace. A seller lists the prompt (plus a media preview) of an image or video they produced, and other users buy or freely claim it. Buyers pay a one-time price and the money lands in the seller’s wallet, which they can later cash out.

Unlike the generation studios, Prompt Marketplace is not an AI tool — it’s a community commerce layer. It never calls an AI provider and never spends credits. It reuses your existing payment gateways and wallet plumbing, but never touches the SaaS billing side (no plans, no subscriptions, no recurring fees).

This guide covers the full lifecycle — where to buy it, how to install it, its dependency on the SaaS plugin, how to configure commission and payouts, how selling and buying work, how seller withdrawals are settled, and how each tool works.

Included User Tools

• Marketplace (Browse) — the public storefront: a media-first grid of every active listing, filterable by type and price, with claim (free) or buy (paid) actions.
• List on Marketplace — the listing editor, reached from a generated creative’s Sell / Share action: set a title, description, and free/paid price.
• My Listings — seller dashboard: manage your listings, edit pricing inline, unlist and re-list, and see per-listing sales and earnings.
• My Purchases — the buyer’s persistent library of acquired prompts, each with the full prompt revealed and a downloadable preview.
• Earnings — wallet balance, lifetime earnings, payout history, and the manual withdrawal request form.

Included Admin Screens

• Dashboard — catalogue size, sales volume, gross revenue, platform commission earned, seller payouts, top sellers and the latest transactions.
• Listings — moderation view of every listing across all sellers, with search, filters and an admin take-down (unlist).
• Transactions — the full sales ledger: who bought from whom, the gateway, gross amount, commission and seller earning, with running totals.
• Withdrawals — the payout queue: approve, mark paid, or reject (which refunds the held funds to the seller’s wallet).

There are no AI engine keys to configure and no cron to schedule — the marketplace neither generates media nor runs background jobs. Purchases settle inline (wallet) or on gateway return (Stripe).

Dependency — the SaaS plugin is required

Prompt Marketplace is the only studio-family plugin with a hard dependency: it relies on the SaaS Business plugin for its payment gateways and its wallet / finance plumbing.

If SaaS is missing or switched off, the marketplace stays hidden — every entry point the plugin adds (the sidebar menus and the gallery Sell / Share action) disappears, even if Prompt Marketplace itself is installed and enabled.

Install and enable the SaaS Business plugin first. Without it, the marketplace never appears to users regardless of the master switch.

Purchase & Installation

Prompt Marketplace is distributed through the in-app plugin marketplace — purchasing and installation both happen inside your MagicAds admin. There’s no third-party download.

1. Open the Plugins marketplace

   Sign in as an admin and go to Admin → General Settings → Plugins. Find the Prompt Marketplace card in the marketplace catalog.

2. Purchase (if required)

   The card CTA depends on your license and purchase state:

   • Free / already owned → installs directly.
   • Paid → routes you to the plugin checkout to complete the purchase.
   • Extended License holders → plugins flagged “free for Extended License” install without an extra purchase.

   If the page shows “This plugin is free only for Extended License holders”, you’re on a Regular License and must purchase Prompt Marketplace (or upgrade your license) to install it.

3. Install / activate

   Click Install on the Prompt Marketplace card. The platform downloads the archive, unpacks it, runs its migration and activates the plugin. This provisions the storage it needs for:

   • listings — a seller’s offer for a single generated creative (the snapshotted prompt and media preview, the free/paid flag, the seller-editable price and its sales counters),
   • purchases — the persistent record of every sale, which fully snapshots the prompt and a copied preview so a buyer keeps their purchase even if the seller later deletes the original creative or unlists the offer (this also doubles as the admin transaction ledger),
   • withdrawals — seller payout requests (request → held → approved → paid / rejected), settled against the same wallet balance that sales credit.

   On a fresh install everything is off by default. Installation only makes the routes and storage exist. The tools stay hidden from users until you enable the feature (and have the SaaS plugin active).

To remove the plugin later, click Uninstall on the same card. Uninstalling removes the plugin’s files but leaves your data intact — listings, purchases and withdrawal history are never dropped.

Configure Prompt Marketplace

Go to Admin → General Settings → Plugins → Prompt Marketplace (/app/admin/general/plugins/prompt-marketplace). The screen is intentionally short — the marketplace has no engines or per-tool pricing.

Setting	Purpose
Enable Prompt Marketplace	Master switch. When on (and SaaS is active), the storefront and seller tools appear in user menus. Off by default.
Platform commission (%)	Optional platform fee, an integer 0–100. 0 (default) means the seller receives the exact amount paid. Anything above 0 is skimmed from each sale as platform revenue.
Minimum withdrawal	The minimum wallet balance a seller must reach before they can request a payout. 0 (default) means no minimum.

Click Save to persist the settings.

How commission is applied

On every completed sale the split is computed once and snapshotted onto the transaction:

commission_amount = price_paid × commission% / 100
seller_earning    = price_paid − commission_amount

The seller earning is credited to the seller’s wallet immediately; the commission amount is your platform’s revenue. Both values are stored on the transaction, so historical sales are unaffected if you later change the commission rate.

Access model

Access is simpler than the generation studios — there is no plan-feature toggle and no free-tier switch. The marketplace is gated by two things only:

1. The SaaS plugin must be active.
2. The master switch must be on.

When both are true, the marketplace is available to every signed-in user (user, subscriber and admin roles). Selling and buying are open to all of them — there’s nothing to unlock per plan.

Because prompts are priced and paid for directly (wallet or card), there are no per-user usage limits to enforce. Spend is naturally bounded by each buyer’s wallet balance or card.

Payments — rails and settlement

Prompt Marketplace runs a separate, one-time checkout pipeline. It reuses the gateway credentials the admin already configured for SaaS, but every purchase is a strict one-off that credits the seller’s wallet — no plans, subscriptions or recurring charges.

Two safeguards keep money correct:

• Live pricing — the listing is always re-read at purchase time, so the buyer pays whatever the seller has set at that exact moment.
• Idempotent settlement — each sale is keyed by a unique order reference (Stripe payment intent or wallet reference), so a webhook or return that fires twice never settles a sale twice.

The wallet rail locks the buyer’s balance and re-checks it under the lock, so two concurrent purchases can never overdraw a wallet. The same locking guards seller withdrawals.

Go-live checklist

1. Enable the SaaS plugin

   Install and switch on the SaaS Business plugin — Prompt Marketplace depends on it for gateways and the wallet.

2. Install the plugin

   Admin → General Settings → Plugins → Prompt Marketplace → Install.

3. Configure a payment gateway (optional)

   To offer card payments, enable Stripe in the SaaS gateway settings. The wallet rail works without any gateway.

4. Set commission & minimum payout

   Prompt Marketplace config → set the Platform commission (%) and Minimum withdrawal, then Save.

5. Enable the feature

   Turn on Enable Prompt Marketplace.

6. Verify as a seller

   Log in as a user, generate (or open) a creative, use Sell / Share to list it, and confirm it appears in the storefront.

7. Verify as a buyer

   From a second account, buy the paid listing (wallet or card) and confirm the prompt unlocks in My Purchases and the seller’s wallet is credited.

8. Verify a payout

   As the seller, request a withdrawal from Earnings, then approve and mark it paid from the admin Withdrawals queue.

Once every step above is green, Prompt Marketplace is live. Proceed to the section below on how to use it.

How to Use

The storefront and seller tools live under Marketplace in the user sidebar; the admin area lives under Marketplace in the admin menu.

Selling a prompt

Selling always starts from a creative the user has already generated:

1. Start from a creative

   From the gallery, choose Sell / Share on a completed image or video (a user can only list their own creatives).

2. Fill in the listing

   The List on Marketplace editor opens with a suggested title. Set:

   • Title (required, up to 160 chars) and an optional description (up to 500 chars — this is public marketing copy, never the prompt).
   • Free or Paid. For paid listings set a price between 0.50 and 100000 in the platform currency.
3. Save

   The listing snapshots the prompt, generation metadata and a media preview, so the offer renders independently of the original creative.

Each creative maps to one listing. Editing the listing later refreshes the price and visibility while keeping the same prompt snapshot.

My Listings

The seller dashboard shows live listings, total sales and lifetime earnings alongside the current wallet balance. From here a seller can:

• Edit pricing inline — flip free/paid or change the price without leaving the page.
• Unlist — pull an offer from the storefront (existing purchases are unaffected).
• Re-list — re-publish a removed offer, but only while the original creative still exists.

If a seller deletes the source creative, its listing is automatically removed from the storefront. Buyers keep their purchase — the prompt and a copied preview live in their library independently.

Browse (storefront)

A media-first grid of every active listing. Shoppers can filter by type (image / video) and price (free / paid), search titles and descriptions, and sort by newest, popular, price low or price high.

• Free listings show a Claim button that adds a persistent copy to the buyer’s library.
• Paid listings keep the prompt locked and route to checkout on Buy. Listings the viewer already owns are marked as owned.

Checkout

The dedicated one-time checkout for a paid listing. The buyer picks an available gateway (wallet or card), accepts the terms, and pays. Guard rails block buying your own prompt, buying something you already own, or buying a free/unavailable listing.

Checkout resolves the listing as view-only data, so the protected prompt is never exposed in the page before payment.

My Purchases

The buyer’s persistent library. Every row is fully self-contained (snapshotted prompt + copied preview), so it keeps working even after the seller deletes the original creative or unlists the offer. Buyers can read the full prompt and download their copy of the preview media. Cloud-offloaded previews (S3 / Wasabi) are resolved automatically.

Earnings & withdrawals

The Earnings screen shows the wallet balance, lifetime earnings, pending and paid payout totals, and the withdrawal history. To cash out, the seller submits a withdrawal request:

1. Choose a method

   PayPal (enter the payout e-mail) or Bank (enter bank details).

2. Enter an amount

   It must meet the admin’s minimum, if one is set.

3. Submit

   The funds are held immediately — the wallet is debited and the amount parked on the request so it can’t be double-spent while the admin settles it.

Dashboard

An at-a-glance overview: total and live listings, paid listings, completed sales, gross revenue, commission earned, seller payouts, active sellers and buyers, the top sellers by earnings, and the ten most recent transactions.

Listings

Every listing across all sellers, filterable by status (active / unlisted / removed), type, and free text. Admins can unlist an offending listing — buyers keep their purchases, only the storefront entry goes away.

Transactions

The complete sales ledger. Each row shows the buyer, seller, gateway, gross amount, commission and seller earning, filterable by gateway (wallet / stripe / free) and searchable by title, order reference, buyer or seller. Running totals for gross, commission and payouts sit at the top.

Withdrawals

The manual payout queue, filterable by status (pending / approved / paid / rejected):

• Approve — acknowledge a pending request (funds stay held).
• Mark paid — record that you’ve sent the money manually (PayPal / bank) and stamp the payout time.
• Reject — decline the request and refund the held funds back to the seller’s wallet (idempotent against double-refunds).

The header shows the pending payout total, the total already paid, and the number of requests in the queue.

Data & preview storage

Listings and purchases store a media preview alongside the prompt. When a paid prompt is bought, the platform makes an independent copy of a local preview file on the results disk, so the buyer’s copy never breaks when the seller deletes the source. Cloud-hosted previews (offloaded via the S3 / Wasabi plugins) are referenced as-is and resolved through the storage manager — the snapshotted prompt is the value either way.

Troubleshooting

The marketplace never touches SaaS plans, orders or subscriptions, and never spends AI credits. Sales credit the seller’s wallet; commission (if any) is your platform’s revenue; withdrawals are settled manually by an admin.
